Welcome 2019




Welcome to 2019! It's time to shake things up a bit and invite adventure back into our lives as Christian teens. Who says being Christian can't be fun!? 


Wednesday Nights: 
Winter Small Group: Can I Ask That? Hard Questions about God and Faith
6:00 – 7:00 pm Youth Room
Led by Debbie Carlton and Brent Hoffman

January Sunday ACT 12:00 - 2:00 pm
13     No Program - Come to church and stay for lunch together in Pollard Hall (There is an           Administrative Council Meeting that will involve a few of us)

20     Calling ALL PARENTS AND YOUTH! We need to have a time after lunch to discuss       VERY important youth ministry events, opportunities and general information - please try  to fit this meeting in your schedule!

27  Lunch after church - Program: Fun Fly RC in the Berrier Building: Ken Lightner will bring his hover crafts and remote control toys! 

SERVICE OPPORTUNITY - 3:00-5:00 PM MEAL PACKING WITH ACTION MINISTRY
(space for 12 - all participants get a T-Shirt) - I, Debbie will be out that Sunday due to an out of town gymnastics meet. I will need parents or other adults to drive the van and transport the youth to  the East Atlanta Action Ministry Warehouse. You will need to wear comfortable clothes and meet in the church parking lot at 2:00 pm. 


FEBRUARY - RETREAT
ReCapture: Adventure! FEB.22-24
Join us for evening bonfires, challenging games and conversation! Our guest co-retreat leader will be Ex-Special Ops Marine, extreme sportsman, theologian, Dad of a teenage son, and new partner in ministry at Harmony Grove UMC - Nathan Smith.

Youth Retreat to Collinswood on Lake Oconee
20 Spaces - Let Debbie know ASAP if you'd like to go!
Cost: $70.00 
(Adult Chaperons go FREE - I need a dad or two, and a few to help cook our own meals!)


CONFIRMATION 2019 - CLASSES WILL BE TAUGHT ON SUNDAY MORNINGS DURING THE SUNDAY SCHOOL HOUR
Begins Sunday, Feb. 3
you must be in 6th grade or higher to participate due to the teaching content 
9:45-10:30 AM Leaders are Debbie Carlton, Bonnie Knowlton,  and Jim Landis
(More information will be communicated to the parents of our 6-7th Graders)
